I went through owner driving impressions, charging logs, suspension complaints, and long-distance reports to find out what the brochure leaves out. Short version: the RS is genuinely quick, genuinely practical, and genuinely polarising on bad roads.
Two things set the RS apart from every other Enyaq before you even look at performance numbers. First, it runs a slightly larger 84 kWh gross / 79 kWh usable pack — not the same as the 85x. Second, the sport chassis drops the car 15 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear. That alone changes the daily driving experience more than the extra power does.
1 Bigger Battery, Different Pack — Why the RS Is Not Just a Faster 85x 84 kWh gross · NMC · AWD
The 85 and 85x use 82 kWh gross. The RS gets 84 kWh gross, 79 kWh usable. That 2 kWh difference might sound like rounding noise, but it's a distinct cell configuration designed to handle the higher peak discharge current the dual-motor setup demands. The Sport Chassis — the Biggest Real-World Differentiator
This is the thing that generates the most owner discussion, and not always positively. The RS comes with a sport chassis lowered 15 mm front / 10 mm rear as standard. DCC adaptive dampers with 15 stiffness settings are an option. Without DCC, the standard RS setup is notably firm — on poorly surfaced roads, multiple owners describe it as genuinely unpleasant.
