Verdict: The RS is the only Enyaq that genuinely feels quick — 5.4 s to 100 km/h and 250 kW put it in a different league from the 85x. What keeps the overall at 6.4 rather than pushing higher: charging is still in the 150–199 kW band despite being the flagship, no V2L anywhere in the range, and €58,600 for a 585-litre boot with no frunk is a tough ask. Owner reports on forums consistently note that real-world range sits closer to 430–460 km at motorway speeds, which is honest for an AWD performance SUV. Skoda Enyaq RS 2025: What Skoda Doesn't Put in the Brochure

562 km WLTP. 185 kW DC. 250 kW dual-motor AWD. Skoda's fastest production car as of 2025. I went through owner driving impressions, charging logs, suspension complaints, and long-distance reports to find out what the brochure leaves out. Short version: the RS is genuinely quick, genuinely practical, and genuinely polarising on bad roads.

Two things set the RS apart from every other Enyaq before you even look at performance numbers. First, it runs a slightly larger 84 kWh gross / 79 kWh usable pack — not the same as the 85x. Second, the sport chassis drops the car 15 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear. That alone changes the daily driving experience more than the extra power does.

1 Bigger Battery, Different Pack — Why the RS Is Not Just a Faster 85x 84 kWh gross · NMC · AWD

The 85 and 85x use 82 kWh gross. The RS gets 84 kWh gross, 79 kWh usable. That 2 kWh difference might sound like rounding noise, but it's a distinct cell configuration designed to handle the higher peak discharge current the dual-motor setup demands. Both motors on the RS are permanent magnet synchronous units — different from the 85x, which pairs a rear PM motor with a front induction motor. In practice the RS feels more immediate off the line, with less of the 85x's progressive front-axle engagement.

System output is 250 kW — that's 40 kW more than the 85x — and the peak is available only when the battery SoC is above roughly 88% and temperature is in the optimal window. Below that, power available is still substantial but not the full 250 kW. One owner who tracked this with a diagnostic app noted: "You get maybe two or three hard pulls at full power before the BMS starts pulling back. After that it's still fast, just not absurd." That's not a flaw, it's just how high-output NMC packs work.

2 185 kW DC — Fastest in the Enyaq Range, Here's the Real Curve NMC · 185 kW peak

185 kW peak — 10 kW more than the 85x, 50 kW more than the 85 RWD. The 10–80% run takes about 26 minutes on a compatible charger with a warm, preconditioned pack. From owner sessions the peak window holds around 10–25% SoC, then steps down in a reasonably gentle plateau until about 45–50%, after which it drops more steeply. Owners who drove to charging points with the nav set up report arriving with the pack warm and seeing full peak speed from the first minute — preconditioning on the RS works properly.

26 minutes 10–80% — but only on a fast enough charger: The RS needs a 200 kW+ CCS station to actually pull close to 185 kW. On a 150 kW station it's capped by the charger, not the car. Owner sessions on 350 kW chargers with a warm pack showed 175–183 kW in the peak window.

3 Real-World Range — Sport Mode Has a Price 79 kWh · AWD · 250 kW

562 km WLTP. In practice, one driver who tracked his RS across a summer of mixed driving averaged 3.5 mi/kWh — that's around 276 mi (445 km) from a full charge. On a steady 70 mph motorway cruise in Normal mode it's closer to 3.0 mi/kWh, giving around 237 mi (381 km). Put it in Sport, and another owner described watching the trip computer average drop half a point in about fifteen minutes of enthusiastic driving. Sport mode keeps both motors more aggressive and the AWD more active — it's fun, but you're spending range doing it.

The RS is heavier than the 85x by roughly 40 kg at kerb weight — 2,220–2,377 kg, the heaviest Enyaq. That mass shows up mainly in cold weather, when the combination of a heavier car, an AWD drivetrain, and a resistive heater (if you skipped the heat pump option) stacks up noticeably.

Summer trip computer vs. motorway reality: In mild conditions, RS owners see 300–310 miles (483–499 km) on the trip computer at 100% charge. On a motorway at 110–120 km/h in Normal mode, real figures land around 340–380 km (211–236 mi) — about 60–65% of WLTP. In Sport: expect 10–15% less on top of that.

5 DCC, Sport Chassis, Towing and What Owners Really Notice MY25 specific

The Sport Chassis — the Biggest Real-World Differentiator

This is the thing that generates the most owner discussion, and not always positively. The RS comes with a sport chassis lowered 15 mm front / 10 mm rear as standard. DCC adaptive dampers with 15 stiffness settings are an option. Without DCC, the standard RS setup is notably firm — on poorly surfaced roads, multiple owners describe it as genuinely unpleasant. "Brilliant on smooth A-roads, punishing on anything else" is pretty much the consensus from people who live with it daily. If your roads aren't great, DCC is not optional in practice — it's the fix. With DCC on its softest settings, the RS rides like a normal family SUV. In Sport, it's tight but controlled.

Towing — Lower Than You'd Expect

1,400 kg braked. That's more than the 85 RWD (1,200 kg) but less than the 85x (2,000 kg). The RS is heavier, lower, and on sports tyres — none of that helps towing capacity. If pulling a large caravan or twin-axle trailer is part of your plan, the 85x makes more sense. The RS is configured for driving dynamics, not maximum payload.
