Key Changes and Specifications


2023: Launch of the First Model

  • Versions: The market launch began with the rear-wheel drive (RWD) ID.7 Pro.
  • Motor: It used a new, more powerful APP550 motor on the rear axle with an output of 210 kW (286 hp) and 545 Nm of torque.
  • Battery: The ID.7 Pro received a 77 kWh (usable capacity) battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 621 km.
  • Charging: It supported fast charging power of up to 175 kW.

2024: New Tourer and Larger Battery

  • New Version: The ID.7 Tourer wagon was introduced.
  • Battery: The ID.7 Pro S version with a larger 86 kWh (usable capacity) battery became available. This increased the WLTP range to up to 709 km for the fastback and up to 690 km for the Tourer.
  • Charging: The maximum fast charging power for the Pro S version was increased to 200 kW.

2024: The Arrival of the GTX Performance Version

  • Motors: The all-wheel-drive sports version, the ID.7 GTX, was released. It received two motors: the main rear-axle motor (APP550) and an additional front motor, providing a combined system output of 250 kW (340 hp).
  • Performance: Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 5.4 seconds for the fastback and 5.5 seconds for the Tourer.
  • Battery: The GTX version is equipped with the same 86 kWh battery as the Pro S.
  • Range: The claimed WLTP range is up to 595 km for the GTX fastback.

2025: Expected Upgrades

  • Expectations: Further software optimizations and the possible introduction of new versions with more advanced specifications are expected in 2025, as Volkswagen continues to actively develop its MEB platform.
