2020: Production Begins

  • Launch: In March 2020, the Model Y officially hit the US market.
  • Versions: Two all-wheel-drive versions were available:
    • Long Range AWD: EPA range – 326 miles (525 km).
    • Performance: EPA range – 315 miles (507 km).

2021-2022: Expanding the Lineup and Technology

  • Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) Version: A base RWD version with an LFP battery was introduced. LFP Feature: Can be charged to 100% daily without degradation.
  • Giga Berlin Production: European models received a new rear casting, simplifying the assembly process.
  • Giga Texas Production: Some models began using the revolutionary 4680 structural battery.

2023-2024: Additional Configurations

  • Standard Range (RWD) Version: EPA range – 260 miles (418 km).
  • Long Range RWD Version: EPA range is 330 miles (531 km).

2025: Expected Refresh and Future Improvements
