Key Changes and Specifications


2020: First Model Launch

  • Versions: The market launch began with the rear-wheel drive (RWD) ID.4 Pro.
  • Motor: It was equipped with the APP310 motor on the rear axle, providing 150 kW (204 hp) of power and 310 Nm of torque.
  • Battery: The ID.4 Pro featured a 77 kWh (usable capacity) battery, offering a WLTP range of up to 520 km.
  • Charging: It supported a DC fast charging power of up to 125 kW.

2021: Introduction of AWD and GTX Performance

  • Motors: All-wheel-drive versions were introduced, including the ID.4 GTX and ID.4 Pro 4Motion. They featured a second motor on the front axle, increasing the combined system output to 220 kW (299 hp) for the GTX.
  • Performance: The ID.4 GTX could accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds.
  • Battery: Both AWD versions used the same 77 kWh battery pack.

2022: New Entry-Level Model

  • Versions: A more affordable, rear-wheel-drive version, the ID.4 Pure, was launched.
  • Battery: It came with a smaller 52 kWh (usable capacity) battery.
  • Motor: The motor output was slightly reduced to 125 kW (170 hp).

2024: Major Powertrain Updates

  • New Motor: The main rear motor was upgraded to the new, more powerful and efficient APP550 motor across all RWD versions, delivering 210 kW (286 hp) and 545 Nm of torque.
  • Charging Speed: The maximum fast charging power was increased to 135 kW for the 52 kWh battery and 175 kW for the 77 kWh battery.
  • Range: The official WLTP range for the ID.4 Pro increased to up to 550 km.
